Yakiniku (Hibachi) Style
Yakiniku (焼肉), meaning "grilled meat", is a Japanese term that, in its broadest sense, refers to grilled meat cuisine. "yakiniku" commonly refers to a style of cooking bite-size meat (usually beef and offal) and vegetables on gridirons or griddles over a flame of wood charcoals carbonized by dry distillation (sumibi, 炭火) or a gas/electric grill. It is one of the most popular dishes in Japan. The origin of contemporary yakiniku is considered to be Korean barbecue, one of the most popular dishes in Korean cuisine.
In 1993, the All-Japan Yakiniku Association proclaimed 29 August as official "Yakiniku Day", a form of goroawase (numerical wordplay), as the date 8/29 can be (roughly) read as ya-(tsu)ki-ni-ku (8 = ya, 2 = ni, 9 = ku). Yakiniku style restaurants in Japan is one of the most popular public dinner for lunch or dinner with friends, business colleagues and families.
KONA BARBEQUE is pleased to offer local beefs (Sirloin, Skirt, Short Rib and Tongue) sliced to Yakiniku style along with premium seafoods (Kona Shrimp and Abalone) in this set menu. You can enjoy fast grilling time by unique grilling plate, one of the most popular plate shape in Japan, with two sauces.
